One of the World Most Beautiful Pop Star- Transgendered Korean Star Harisu
When I found out that the Pussy Cat dolls were actually bunch of real woman I was mildly sad and disappointed. I think a lot of people would agree with that they look like dudes specially the red haired one. Plus the idea of a bunch of trannies singing “Don’t cha wish your girlfriend was hot like me” would have been extremely fun and cheeky.
So since most of my you are from North America and Europe, I decided to introduce you to Korean post star transsexual, Harisu (just in case you still haven’t heard about her).
In a conservative, male dominated and very Catholic society like Korea, it’s amazing yet perplexing that one of the country’s most famous beautiful talented exports is a transsexual .
Harisu, derived from the English phrase "hot issue" is the stage name of Lee Kyung-eun (born as a male on February 17, 1975 with the real name Lee Kyung-yup). The transsexual pop singer, model and actress from South Korea was discovered while working as a nightclub singer in Japan where she was also studying hair design.
Her meteoric rise to stardom was started after appearing in a popular television commercial for DoDo cosmetics, where in it featured her curvaceous figure, long black hair and sensuous beautiful face and then later on zooming to reveal his (digitally enhanced) Adam’s apple. Soon more corporate endorsement deal came in to her way. She later on branches out into other fields such as music and acting.
Today she’s being mobbed by hordes of screaming fans at in-store mall appearances promoting her music, far from the old country’s stance for transgendered. (In old Korea, transgender are typically called “iban” meaning “different people” who also often considered socially repugnant and mostly socially outcasts). Her first major acting role was in the 2001 film Yellow Hair 2, and since then her credits have included Hi! Honey, a Taiwanese drama series, and Colour Blossoms, an erotic drama by Hong Kong filmmaker Yonfan.
On May 19, 2007, Harisu married boyfriend Micky Jung, whom she had been dating for two years previously.
In one of her magazine interview she said “ I can proudly say I have no skeletons in the closet. I am an extremely honest person and I want the public to see me as I really am-inside and out.
